Immediate Serving Opportunities

One of the wonderful aspects of a healthy church is that we all get to participate. At its core, a church is its people. While some are involved in full-time ministry work at the church, most of us volunteer our time to make WUMC what it is.

If you are new to serving, it’s important to know this isn’t about you filling an urgent need. While each area of service is an important one, it’s just as important for you to serve in an area that brings joy, energy, and excitement into your life. The act of serving is an important part of the process of spiritual transformation--the gradual process that God uses to mold our character and life into the image of Jesus Christ.

Immediate Need	Time Commitment	Location	Description
Worship at Cosby: Set-up Team Take-down Team	7:45-8:45 am and/or 12:15-1:15 pm, average commitment is 1 Sunday a month	Cosby High School	Come be a part of the adventure! We are looking for people to join our existing Cosby Crew in these various positions. On-the-job Training is provided.
Altar Flower Delivery Person	10 minutes, one Sunday a month at 9:00 am.	Woodlake Sanctuary and Cosby High School	Pick up the Altar flowers at the Woodlake sanctuary and deliver them to the Cosby High School auditorium between the 8:15 and 9:30 services.
A/V Runner	10 minutes, every Sunday at 8:30 am.	Cosby High School	Pick up the jump drive containing the powerpoints for the 9:30 and 11:00 services and their rundown sheets from the Woodlake campus on Friday afternoons and delivery them to Cosby HS on Sunday mornings by 8:30 am.
Involvement Team	2-3 hours a month	Meetings held at Hampton Park Campus	Monthly meeting at Hampton Park campus plus miscellaneous phone calling. Join an exciting team and help people get connected at WUMC!
Cosby Mule Team (Truck & Trailer Drivers)	average commitment is 1 service, once a month	Woodlake UMC & Cosby High School	We can’t set up Cosby if the equipment isn’t there! Do you have a truck with a trailer brake? If you do, join the Cosby Mule Team and haul 1 trailer from the Woodlake Campus to Cosby High School before setup (7:15 am) and return it to the Woodlake Campus after take down (12:45 pm). Hitch is provided.
PowerPoint & Sound Assistants (A/V)	1 hr once a month during the 5:30, 8:15, 9:30 or 11:00 services	Woodlake and Cosby Worship Centers	Help run powerpoint slides or help run the sound board during the worship service. Training is provided and you will be working with other volunteers.
Nursery Volunteers (Youth (13+) & Adult)	Minimum 1 hour a month during your choice of service time	Infant, toddler, 2's & 3's classrooms	Volunteer to serve at least once a month for an hour choosing the service time and age group you prefer
